Locate your AC Compressor here!

Noone likes to be hot and humid during the summer. Many times getting in your car can be the most comfortable time since your cars AC System blows cold, de-humidified air and its right there in front of you. Now on the other hand if your cars compressor has gone bad you'll find out real quick that it won't be very cool in your car, truck or SUV. The AC Compressor is a main component of your cars cooling system. It houses the Freon that aids in the process of removing humidity from the outside or re-circulated air and then pushing it along the AC lines to complete the process and give you the cool refreshing touch of air. Older systems used Freon-12 and newer systems (after 1994) used Freon-11. This change was due to concerns about damage to the ozone layer that Freon-12 was doing. The scientific name is chlorofluorocarbon halomethane, or CFC and is still available for older vehicles when one needs to be charged but newer vehicles do not have these systems. In the event you take your car in for service they will do a charge test and will, in the event there is low pressure in your compressor, re-fill it to the appropriate levels.
